An average apartment in an above-average location with dismal management

Many of the positives about Tilden Hall have to do with where it is rather than what it is. It is in a great neighborhood--just blocks away from the Metro, restaurants, bars, and grocery stores. The streets are tree-lined, well-lit, and safe.
For me, the property management, cost of rent, and overall poor quality of the apartments outweigh the benefits of the location. It is true what other people say about Daro Realty: once you have signed and paid they no longer care about you. Expect calls to go unreturned and questions unanswered if you have to deal with the property manager.
For $1500 a month you do get a reasonably sized apartment with utilities included. You also get the lingering smell of lacquer, rotting baseboards, paper-thin windows (especially loud on Connecticut Avenue!) and no dishwasher. A parking spot will run you an additional $140 a month.
Trust me: there are much better apartment buildings in Cleveland Park for around the same price. Do yourself a favor and look around before you sign a deal with the Daro devil.
