I have to disagree with the other posts. I have lived in Tunlaw Gardens for several months now and I have nothing but great things to say. I pay less than a lot of places in the area (and, I get a lot more than most of the places too!) The rooms are huge, the laundry facilities are clean, and the kitchen has all brand new appliances which work like a charm. Best of all, the management is kind and prompt. Before we moved in, we were told the apartment had an icemaker and it didn't, so management re-ran a water line up the wall and installed a new refrigerator with icemaker. They did not have to do that, they did it because they wanted my roommate and I to be absolutely satisfied. I have lived in several apartments before, and any other management company would say "Oops, that must have been a mistake. Sorry." Another time, we had a problem with our garbage disposal, and management had someone over in 10 minutes to fix it. If there's one problem - it's parking. $250 for a spot is way too expensive in my opinion, especially when the Archstone building down the street has spaces for under $200.

Mariam, You'll change your mind completely when your lease is up and they increase your rent by $500/mth, and keep increasing it each time they get the opportunity. People in DC are busy and there is nothing worse than being too busy to move and your long term relationship with Tunlaw is now used against you. Yeah, it is all nice in the beginning, but just wait. ;) They'll tell you, you're getting market rate, and then you'll see an ad on Craigslist, by Tunlaw, renting your same size apartment for considerably less. I brought this to their attention once and they said, if I wanted the better rate I'd have to switch to the advertised apartment. I asked if there was anything wrong with it, and they said, nope just like the one you're currently in. Greg
