I have lived at Van Ness South only 6 months, and while it does have a few problems (as does any apartment building), I have come to appreciate living here. The biggest plus to me is the pool, which is absolutely huge and features lap lanes as well as a recreational area and is a wonderful amenity in the summer. The walls are not thin like many other buildings around the city, and for the most part the residence are quiet.
The location of the building is also nice - just off Connecticut Ave on a culdesac so there is limited traffic noise. The balconies are the largest I have come across and it is very close to Rock Creek as well as Cleveland Park restaurants and pubs.
As for the management, I haven't really had to deal with them too much , but I also haven't had any problems with them. The rent is fair for the size of the apartments but it is still expensive. The high parking fee is ridiculous too. I have had some problems with ants, but maintenence was there the same day and we haven't had problems since. bYr9ljUwtCbMRXE8dRDC
