What isn't wrong with this place' Rats, roaches, rude and incompetent management. Place is falling apart, cabinets, appliances, you name it, it doesn't work. The "24-hour" maintenance is a handy-man that lives an hour away and gets angry if you need anything or just plain doesn't respond. The hot water is inconsistent probably because of some patchwork done on the water heater that Washington Gas described as dangerous. My apartment sustained significant water damage all management did was shampoo the carpet, the mold is still there and making everyone sick, when I ask for someone to take a look, I get the usual rude and uninterested response. The apartment is spacious, close to Metro, and cheap but you can do much better in D.C. We were greeted by dead roaches on the counter-tops the day we moved in and the place is infested. Infested is an understatement, I don't allow my 1 year old in the kitchen. The walls are paper thin so you can hear the hoodlums screaming and fighting in the hallways at all times of night. There is no insulation so the utility bills are through the roof. Oh and they don't accept packages so I've had 3 packages stolen by the person who breaks into all the mailboxes. Take my word for it and don't buy the nice front the property manager gives you before you sign the lease. This place is a dump. Stay Away!!! Columbia Heights has affordable housing that isn't so poorly managed. I'm working on getting out of my lease!!!
