Great Location; Friendly Place

I've lived in Washington House since 1998. I've lived in both an efficiency and a 1 bedroom. The pluses of The Washington House are: friendly staff, immaculate upkeep, great location, super roof deck, friendly tennants. There are only a few negatives: The elevators are notoriously out of order often; moving in (or out) is challenging -- furniture must go down a long, narrow staircase in the back of the building, thru the basement, and around the corner to the elevators. Management isn't too cooperative with moving things thru the front door (which would seem easier). And if you have big items to move in (or out), you better plan in advance. Again, Management is not flexible with last-minute purchases or yard sale finds that you'd like to bring in thru the lobby.

Finally, not being a driver, I have no experience with parking. However, friends who visit usually find a space (without too much drama) on Florida Ave.

Other than that, I can say that my experiences at The Washington House have been excellent. Special props to Tony and front desk guy, David!
