I have lived in the Washington House for nearly a year. I moved here sight-unseen from cross-country after a friend visited the community and told me about it. Moving to DC with two small dogs was not easy (and from a large house) - not many nicer buildings allow dogs, not to mention two! I have been so incredibly impressed with this place that I am moving to a bigger apartment in the same building this weekend (I looked elsewhere but just could not move away from Tony, Wiggins, David, Paul and the other friendly Washington House employees). The staff is wonderful, maintenance is quick to respond, the residents are friendly and quite, the location is superb, and the apartments are well-kept, bug-free (they do monthly extermination) and well-designed (I love the wood floors). I have lived in a number of apartments in my life, and this place tops my list. Highly recommended. Only minor issue is parking - you have to park on the street. I drive a tiny car so it is rarely a problem, but the spots can fill up late evening.
