I have lived in the Washington House for six months now and I have been satisfied overall with my experience. While there was a minor insect problem, I did a quick one day bombing myself and I haven't had any little visitors since. The insect problem may occur because the building has yearly turnovers (students, people coming to DC for the first year of a new job, etc.). The building is well maintained and you see where your rent is going. Compared to other horror stories I've heard from friends, this is one of the best apartments to live in. It's not so big that you can get lost in the sea of tenants nor is it so small that you know everyone. The staff is professional and courteous and Tony Hooper is one of the best apartment managers I've known. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking to move to the capital.
