A Delightful Experience

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
I lived at the Washington House for 18 months from 2005 to 2007, and would still be there if not for a job change to another city.
My apartment was on the corner of the building, with a round sunroom, so the views of the park across the street were superb. The layout of the apartment was also extremely well thought out, so you had the feeling of being in a much larger space. There were walls of windows in the three main rooms, so you had plenty of light, and storage space was excellent, with no less than four good size closets plus what amounted to a trunk room off the bedroom.
The staff were all friendly and exceedingly helpful and competent. Occasional minor repairs were handled very quickly and efficiently.
There was street noise and an occasional loud neighbor or guest in the hallway, but of course that had nothing to do with the building or management. Besides, what do you expect on 16th St in the middle of Washington, DC'
Finally, the location couldn't be better. Everyday necessities, transportation, and dining and entertainment are all steps away.
For all this, you should expect to pay big city rent.
