I was looking at DC apartments in June, and these reviews almost scared me out of living here. I have been very happy here so far. Everything has been clean, no bugs or mice, maintenence responsive, concierge very friendly and helpful, breakfast and coffee always available, quiet and great location (close to everything but not in the middle of everything). What you see is what you get. There is no secret "once you sign the lease they screw you" or "mice come crawling out of everywhere" that I have noticed so far (granted the cold weather hasn't hit). The people that live here range from young professional/grad students and up. The gym is small, but easily accessible and never overcrowded. My studio is small, but the bathroom and closet are big, and compared to the quality of the other studios I looked at in Foggy bottom for the same price, I feel I get a lot more out of my money here. All around just what I expected and no complaints. I feel very much at home here and am so glad I made the decision to live here.
