A Mixed Bag

I have lived in the West Park now for a little over a year.

It's a great building for students or young professionals as it is in a fabulous location, close to many bars, restaurants, and nightlife, and is also one of the most reasonably-priced apartment complexes in Dupont.

That being said, you get what you paid for.

Being close to bars and nightlife mean evenings can be very loud (screaming drunk people can be heard at all hours) and the apartments are poorly insulated, amplifying these noises (and making the rooms cold in the winter and hot in the summer despite heat or AC).

Therefore if you're looking for a quiet, residential area this is NOT the place to live.

Other than noise and some minor problems with management, the West Park has been a great place to live.

If you need somewhere quiet, move east of Dupont Circle (and pay quite a bit more money).

Overall -

Pros:
Great Location
Nice Apt Layouts (most with balconies, all with H/W floors)
Rooftop Pool
Well-Priced for Area

Cons:
Very Noisy at Night
Poorly Insulated
Management Could be More Attentative

Very livable, as long as you're reasonable about your expectations (and are aware of the cons going in...)
