The York is an older building, and it isn't exactly a convenient walk to nearby metro stations or to grocery stores. That being said, it is the most inexpensive building in the Foggy Bottom area that I've found, and it's really a great value. The rooms are large and pleasant, and maintenance is quick and reliable. An oddity is the way they choose to heat and cool the place... you can't really control the air in your apartment, and it's freezing in the summer and sweltering in the winter. If that's the biggest problem (which, aside from walking 15-20 minutes to get to anything interesting, and a bit of a storage shortage--make sure to bring a big bureau, it is) then I think you're doing pretty well.
