I lived at the Yorkshire for a year when I first moved to DC. The location cannot be beat. I lived in a little studio and had a window unit, so I was very comfortable. The ammenities were a little out dated, some would say charming though. I had fresh carpet when I moved in and my rent was low, (in comparison to other apartments similar.)
I had a bit of a roach issue when I first moved in, and once i made a big deal about it, they fixed it, and it was great! I had a flood once, but hey, it happens, and they reimbursed me for the damages.
The staff was always friendly, and the front door guy (I forgot his name) knew EVERYONE in the building, so I felt very safe. The neighborhood at the time was in transition, so I was comforted by a nice building and a self locking front entrance.
I would recommend this property, though I've heard the rent has gone up dramaticly (I paid 850 that included the additional cost of my AC unit.) With all utilities included it was a great deal.
I've lived at many rental properties since, and I would say this is one of the better experiences.
