I have been here for about 6 months. Without question these are the nicest apartments in the area - nothing else I looked at even compared in terms of layout, space, amenities. The apartments are gorgeous - great layout, huge closets, nice bathroom, nice kitchen. Plus it's pet-friendly. The soundproofing could be a lot better (thank god I'm on the top floor) but it's not too bad. Expect your whole household to shake when the trains go by, but again, the noise isn't too bad if your windows are closed.
That said, I don't think I will stay here when my lease ends. Bear seems full of shady trashy people and it's just depressing and not too safe. I really wish there was any kind of security patrol in this complex, the area around Rt 40 just is not great. Too bad there aren't any other truly upscale, decent apartment complexes in DE. If you don't own a nice house in a good neighborhood, you're screwed. This state is just weird.

I'm wondering where you moved to after Brandywine Woods and if it's a better place or not. I ask because I went to BW yesterday and the place looks great with the landscaping, pool, and t he option to rent an attached/detached garage.
