Great place to call home

I've spent the better part of 2 years at Christiana Meadows, and I must say it's been a very enjoyable stay; the only reason I'm leaving is that I work in the American auto industry and I'm anticipating hard times. The pro's far outweigh the con's, and I'm having trouble finding a place to downgrade to since I've been so spoiled here.
The rent includes many other perks, including expanded basic cable, a well-kept pool during the summer (bring your own lounge chairs or get there early), a fitness center with a halfway decent selection of equipment, and your own address. Parking is ample and well-lit, the landscaping is very well-kept, and there is a very real sense of community here (wait till you see it around Christmas time). The security gate apparently works, considering the surrounding area isn't all that great, and I've only heard of one case of vehicle break-ins. Very pet-friendly, and cleanup stations are everywhere (although there's been a little bit of an issue of people not utilizing them). Appliance package is great (includes full-size W&D, dishwasher, even microwave). Utility bills have been very reasonable, especially considering you pay for heat & hot water (heat pump & individual water heater). The building construction is great, also--my current unit is a first-floor and I've never had upstairs neighbors keep me up. We really haven't had enough snow in my time here to judge the quickness of plowing, though.
The leasing and maintenance crew have been very accomodating; the few problems I've had with my apartment(s) have been resolved promptly. Even when it comes to breaking a lease, they're very lenient--$300 re-renting fee deducted from your security deposit, provided you give 60 days' notice. I doubt you'll ever need to know that, though, as you'll like it once you're here. I've also noticed they give the tenants alot of room to bend the rules with your outside area (using it for storage sheds, satellite dishes, motorcycle parking, making a garden, even camping) as long as it's tasteful, and I really respected that.
There are very few issues you may need to take into consideration that you wouldn't have to consider at other apartments. Route 1 is loud, and it gets louder the higher up you go, so make sure you spend a little time in the unit you're interested in if it's near the road to make sure you can tolerate it. Check the parking situation for your building, too; some buildings have more front-row spots than others. The dishwasher is LOUD, but operates well, and the bedroom doors drown the noise adequately. The business center gets rented out often for parties and shares bathrooms with the fitness center, so don't be surprised if (non-threatening) strangers and kids come walking through while you're working out.
Long story short, Christiana Meadows is loaded with features, mostly quiet, very convenient, completely safe, but a little pricey. If you can swing the rent, you'll love it here.
