I have lived here for close to a year now, and unfortunately am stuck with renewing my lease once more. But after that, sayonara St. Andrews.

Major gripes:
Even though I am located away from the start of the devleopment, the train that barrels through blowing it's horn close to the entrance in the middle of the night (repeadetly) has kept me up on more than one occassion. So location' Afraid that's not one of your pluses, St. Andrews...

The tractor trailers that line either side of the main road all day every day is a danger to drivers, especially at night because of the lack of sufficient lighting on that road (Scotland Drive).

There is constant construction, scarcity in parking when your building begins to fill at night, and I have yet to be able to find the free breakfast that St. Andrews so proudly totes as a perk. The staff also leaves alot to be desired. They are very hot and cold, sometimes talkative and friendly, sometimes snooty, stand offish and unhelpful - especially when it came to moving in - the time when you need them the most.

I have to be fair and mention what I do like about St. Andrews - the apartments themselves are really nice, but I feel they are overpriced because of all of the other inconveniences that surround you in the development. The landscaping is also pretty - the parts that aren't crowded by construction. St. Andrews is also a place of ethnic diversity, which I thoroughly enjoy (although my boyfriend does not).

My St. Andrews grade - D

You have to be a complete moron to not think there won't
be any train noises if you live near the tracks that cross a major highway.
And actually no not a lot of places remove your snow. No most places i have seen have
only a trash dumpster so dont even go there. Yes this place is more luxury than most
apartments in a rural area. What do you want a freaking doorman to take your stuff upstairs?!
Almost every apartment complex says they are luxury. And most are not. Even some of the new
apartments look like Crap! Quit whining about dumb stuff! Oh the train makes noise when it goes
across the highway, boo hoo! Whine Whine Whine!!! Move out if its so awful! Good Lord!
Most people don't have a place to live you complain about a freakin train!

Great review luckygal, very fair and accurate in my opinion. Don't worry about this moron, he rebuts all negative reviews by saying basically nothing of any substance. I didn't know about the trains either; the girl who showed me the apartment certainly didn't volunteer the info. Sure, the Amtrak office is right there and you can see the tracks on Rte. 40, but what you wouldn't know until you moved here is that the trains blow their horns LONG and LOUD EVERY NIGHT between the hours of 1:00 and 5:00AM. My apartment is approx. a quarter mile from the tracks, but the train has woken me up on the few occasions I forgot to put in my earplugs. And when it's nice out and I leave a window open, the train wakes me up even with earplugs in. Hey Regretall, if you think snow removal and trash facilities are unusual luxuries, you obviously haven't lived at any other apartments. Those are basic services that any apartment should provide. That's like bragging that the apartments are pre-wired for cable TV. Instead of rebutting all the honest and valid reviews here, why don't you post your own review and tell everyone why you think this place is worth the money they charge.

Great posts, everyone. yeah they forgot to mention the trains along with a few other things, when I looked at the place. I am pretty sure regretall works for the office or has been asked by the office to rebutt the negative reviews. Funny I never see regretall post anything to rebutt the positive ones, and I do know my neighbors were asked to post positiive reviews. Sounds like something the management would do. These are honest reviews. Regretall and the management should try the same.

Dude - are you really that idiotic? Did you really just insinuate that I should be more than happy that I work hard and pay alot of money to live in a place that I am not 100% satisifed with because somewhere out there in this town/city/neighborhood other people are less fortunate? What a great way to make people hop on the St. Andrews bandwagon. "Be grateful to live here - because remember, it could be worse - you could be homeless." You are really not quite right.

You are making a lame attempt to portray me as a "moron" who should have been able to figure out that a train that operates right next to the complex would be loud. I am obviously an intelligent person who would be able to discern that had I had the information to do so. What I am saying is that I didn't realize that there was a train next to the development. Therefore - and be sure you understand this now - I am posting to state that those potential renters who may find something like this a nuisance may want to think about that before making a final decision. Dispute that if you'd like and if you can - otherwise, just shush for now.

The parking sucks, as we both agreed. The tractor trailors cluttered along the entrance are ugly, a nuisance and a hazard - again as we agreed. And oh yeah - another fight broke out in the neighboring apartment yesterday. Nice place to raise your family though, folks!

And just to reiterate - MOST places certainly remove snow and certainly have an effective trash disposal system. Most do not necessarily have a snotty staff and people who obviously love the drama in their life. This is toted as a luxury place with high quality people, and what I am simply saying is that from what I have seen, this is not a very accurate depiction. That's all!

Regretall is obviously smoking a pole! The only good thing you can come up with about this place is the snow removal? Whoo-hoo! Although come to think of it, that is the only good thing about this place!
From: veedubgrl Date: 11/22/2005
Um yea-just a brief note about the snow removal...it is required by law that the complex removes snow. Do some research.
From: happygal512 Date: 11/26/2005
The place is a dump. You can't dress up route 40, and that is what they try to do. Like the train waking you up at night? They forgot to mention that on their "tour".
From: NotAsBadAsQuoted Date: 11/29/2005
No complex mentions the trains!! We went to some RIGHT AGAINST Rt. 1, do you think they mentioned all the traffic and sirens that travel Rt. 1?? NOT! They aren't going to!<
