I moved to East Pointe about 3 yrs ago and the apartment community has change dramactically. There is a constant change in management and the maintenance is horrible. The grounds are unkept and trash runs out to the parking lot. You can see rats at times near the trash dump. There are constant sirens and helipcoters in the area due to crime. It's very noisy with loud music. Kids playing in the late hours, sitting on your vehicles. I had a relative 2 yrs ago who came to visit and in broad daylight her car was stolen in a matter of 15 minutes. There are constant issues with the water where you are without for 24 hours at times. I know tenants who had to leave their apartments for the evening just so they can bomb it because of the roaches. This is just not a place that you want to live. A section of the apartments got caught on fire back in May and they are just starting to renovate. So base upon the outward appearance alone you would not want to live here. I left 2 months ago and although I pay more rent, at least I have a safe enviroment to live.
