Not worth it

Granted the size of the apartments are wonderful and the place comes with a balcony...but that's about all there is good to say about this place. The rent is extremely high and the utility bills are even higher! Cost per month for utility will run you between 150 - 180 a month..the owner is in jeopardy of being reported to the Attorney Generals office for running a scam on the bills. And even though you're paying the utilities, you have no control over the temperature! The bills are sent from some company in California that not one tenant can locate online. Then lets talk about the bugs in the place. For almost 1000 a month, you get to live with roaches - wonderful huh' There are two washers and two dryers per building that very rarely work. When they are working, the dryer doesn't dry. Reporting to the office gets you absolutely nowhere - they claim not to own it. If you're looking for other amenities, this is not the place for you - no gym, no pool, a quarter of a playground in the corner of the woods for the kids, and it's not far from the methodine hotel - so that's perfect. They've been so-called 'renovating' this place for the last year and a half yet the doors only have one coat of paint on them making them look extra tacky. The hallways are smelly and the cleaning lady should not be employee of the day, month or year since the buildings are never clean. The mailboxes are constantly broke. I could go on and on. It's just not worth spending the same amount of money when there are other places out there for the same cost with better features and more livable conditions. I would go into the problem with office staff but it's not worth it either since there's a new person in there every two weeks. Keep moving past the yellow balloons at the entrance.

i can say i agree with everything 100% in this review. I often wonder if reviews were true or written by people who may have had one bad experience. I have lived here for almost 1 year and I'm currently in the process of looking for somewhere else. This person was right..there are way better places in the area with a lot more amenities for the same price. And every 3 weeks someone new works in the office who can never take care of issues because they are "new and have no idea of what is going on." |

Excuse me...I wrote this review three months ago...the utilites are now up to $250.00 a month and there have been ten more people working in the office, some of which were on drugs while 'working'.

People from Park Place and Towne Court Apartments, Newark, DE (which are also managed by Schwab Ltd ) have exactly the same problems with the fraudulent-looking utility bills of $200/month. In Spring 2007 People have filed complaints about Schwab Ltd practices with the Attorney General of Delaware.

I too lived at Water View Court apts. for 10 yrs. I finally had enough of being ripped off from paying up to $150 a month in utility bills alone, and moved out in Feb. 2007. Prior to moving, I made it known that I contacted the Attorney General's office, and told the manager at the rental office that I wanted to see a daily breakdown of my heat usage, but that never happened. What did happen was, once a month I would get a notice for inspection of my apt. That in itself (in my opinion) was supposed to be a scare tactic, but it only pissed me off even more. I am in the process of taking the owners to court because they witheld my security deposit after I moved, charging me $150 TO CLEAN THE CARPET, along with a past water/sewer bill that I refused to pay. I have tried several attempts to try and get the community to come together and fight the owners in regard to the over priced utility bills, but it was all smoke and no fire. Peter Schwab still hasn't got what he deserves. Hopefully more people like me will make a stand and take him to court and hit him where it hurts; in his pocket...
