Everything Good outside is probably bad underneath.....

My family came to view Whitney apartments in the month of late September when the place was still Society Hill Apartments. I came back to compete my application in late October and the name and even the application process had changed over to Whitney. I completed the necessary info and got an answer next daY! We picked our move in date and the staff seemed very professional and courteous. The day before our move, everything went smooth and I was pleased. A month or so passed and I began having problems with my heater/air conditioner. After 4 compaints and 4 visits from maintenence (which took 3-4 days after my reports each time) I still had a problem with my unit. It wouldn's come on in some situations or it would completely cut off and would not come back on until the next day leaving me cold obn cold days and very hot on hot days. I got some real service and a new unit after using a few select words on the company voicemail. I did report it after hours on the day of my message and was told by the 24 hour maintenece that this was not an emergency. This type of action is consistent with every work order I have submitted. Also, renovations in the buildings were promised when I first visited but they just started the painting now over a year later.
I have many other situations to refer to, but I consider none of that to be nearly as bad as the Management. The leasing reps and the maintainence staff is very friendly and willing to help. I never have any problems with them, I do find that the manager is very nasty. She NEVER returns calls and it is very difficult to get an answer out of her. She never says hi when she passes you in the hall on the way to grab a smoke. She wants to be involed with the day to day runnings in the office, but has no clue on how to talk to people or even how to answer a question. Her staff tries hard to provide the assistance that we as teneants need but sometimes a little hi or an answer to my question is needed. When I moved in she was not the manager and I got a newsletter in my door everymonth, NOT NOW. I think she is all about saving money and not really giving any consideration on how to KEEP tenants in the buildings. I have much more to say so check back, I will keep it updated......if I don't move!
