I lived in Woodacres for 1.5 years. The apartment was small-to-average in size but it was in very poor shape when I moved in.

The neighbors were actually quite courteous but I'd say the overall complex was less than safe. I can recall two different situations when someone was stabbed and/or seriously injured (5-10 police units...had to tape off an entire building for a day).

Many times I would find 40 ounce bottles lying in the parking spaces. Once, I ran over some glass and got a flat tire!

The rent was decent, but after my renewal it was hiked nearly 10% (due to "beautification and aesthetic projects" under new management) and I presume it's higher now.

The office staff was not all that helpful when it came to various maintenance issues. Many requests would go weeks before being attended to (I actually had to send a certified letter to ensure receipt of a complaint...someone went on vacation and left their alarm clock buzzing and I had to sleep on my couch for 8 days!)

As the other posters have noted, you will be living in the "ghetto." I received some flak from the other tenants as I was not ------- american and apparently a young white male didn't belong.

I'd avoid this place...UNLESS you have poor credit. I know for a fact they are willing to rent out to less-than-perfect credit cases.

Drove by today for first & last time! Ghetto is right. Looks like a chicken bones 40 oz. malt liquer bottles on ground complex. Riff raff & gang banger look a likes all over. Does not look safe. Not a good place for white folks unless you are a "whigger." i.e. white trash!!! I bet drugs & crime is all around here!
