I chose this complex after looking at about 20 different ones in the New Castle, Newark, Pike Creek area. These are the newest apartment in the area. The next newest are School Bell Apartments between Routes 1 & 7.

Although off of 141, there is very little traffic and it is a quiet neighborhood. The neighbors all seem to be decent people(young couples or retirees mostly) and concrete floors really help cut down the noise. The surrounding area doesn't look upper class like Pike Creek, but doesn't look/feel unsafe, just needs a bit of maintenance. Washing/dryer in all units, as well as central air/heating. Pool open from Memorial Day-Labor Day like all others around.

Cable, Internet, Phone available through Comcast. DSL broadband available from C2 or Verizon. Phone from Verizon. Gas (for heating) through Delmarva. Electricity from New Castle Municipal Services. No FiOS yet.

Pros: New. Concrete between the floors. No parking problems. High ceilings throughout. Decent neighbors. Some units face wooded area and grassy picnic area. Plenty of wildlife (song birds, wild rabbits, frogs).

Cons: I'm being nitpicky here...none of these are dealbreakers. Close to the railroad crossing, so you'll hear the train a few times during the day. Haven't heard it any later than midnight though. Living/dining area layout a bit odd and had to be a bit creative in placing things. Frogs in the pond are a bit loud at night(very minor issue). 2nd bedroom has 2 cable outlets but no phone outlet (very strange). Located on site of former steel mill. They had to do some soil cleanup and capping, but considering I'm not in contact with the soil, I'm not overly concerned.

Note: They will be building Deemers Landing Phase II across the street, which may result in some dust for units facing that direction.
