"Scary...stay away", "Do not move here" are two of the many many reviews that actually state the issues that people need to know when making a decision whether to rent at Stonebridge or not. The landlord can change the quality of life here by following simple ethics. The daily parade of new potential renters (the shadiest bunch you could imagine seeing) and subsequent habitation of these very same people within a day or two only proves that having the numbers up and units rented are more important than current resident's safety. Background and credit checks would scare the bulk of these people away from applying.
Please, please, please! The location has nothing to do with what has happened here. This is not a block or two from Wilmington and "the hood". Walk around here at night and you'd think you were renting in Wilmington with the various characters milling about, the music blasting from cars with no respect to neighbors....
Even the mailman comments on how with the old management here that he used to deliver maybe 5 late notices a month. Since the change and the "new requirements" for tenancy here, he states it's at least 50 late notices a month. Responsible law abiding citizens with character don't live like that and it shows the depth of the problem that has grown from the change in tenant requirements.
In summation:
-This place is unsafe by the quality of tenants that have been taking over within the last two years.
-The management could do something about that quality but just wants to hit their numbers for units occupied.
-No safety measures have been enacted since the January incident.
-These places aren't that "spacious" or such a bargain for the money as some of these silly reviews state. (based on square footage vs dollars)
-Maintenance doesn't have the ability to keep up with the inevitable deterioration due to the age of these places (age related rot and decay) and the appliances (ie. air conditioner not being able to handle the demand even after servicing).
-The grounds are "flowered up" and cut regularly, but this should be expected, not a selling point. My feeble grandmother could do that much with flowers. (This is the same attitude/tricks of the old used car market- Detail the car, make it all shiney and the potential buyer will overlook or not see the problems within.)
-and....at any time, day or night, one just has to look at the happenings all around Stonebridge, at any hour-from the pool through the parking lots, to the workout room, and ask oneself what has this become and do I feel safe at my so-called "home".
I can't get out of here fast enough....money needed to move and time to scout out new residence are the only things that have made it impossible to this point. My life continuing though, my basic safety, should be my first priority....and the number one consideration for anyone else considering a move here. Come around numerous times and you will see what I write here...just visit the office and you will be "snowballed" into a deplorable environment. ....as it is said, "Don't drink the Kool-Aid". That's what the office wants you to do- take that drink, take their tour, look at all of the flowers, and "Sign here!" Don't!!
