First off, I live here now and I hate it. Let me tell you all the things that the office doesn't tell you.
PARKING: absolutely horrible. There is not enough parking for the buildings. I live in building 113-124 and there are about 8 parking spots for the 12 apartments in the building. If you come home past 9 PM you are guarenteed to not have a parking spot. They do have extra parking for the building but unless you have a truck or SUV there is no way for you to get there. It is located up a dirt hill with huge ditches. Also, your car will get dented up. People here are so inconsiderate and will open their doors right into your car and not care.
NOISE: The apartments were built in the 70's and the noise is horrible. I can literally hear what the people above me and next to me are saying to each other. Also there is construction behind the complex that periodically do explosions. The whole apartment building shakes and if you have anything on your wall be prepared for it to fall and break. Also, the fire alarms go off all the time for no reason, and will go off for about 15 minutes at a time.
GROUNDS: okay but could be better. First the dumpsters for your trash are 3 buildings down from where you live which is a hike when you are carrying heavy trash bags. Second, they do put lights on the buildings which 50% of the time are burned out, and they have spot lights on the top of the buildings so if you move in be prepared to have a spot light shining into your apartment at all hours of the night. Lots of steps. In our building you go up about 20-25 steps just to get to the front door. Also the lawn service that they have blows grass and rocks onto your car. My car got the window shattered out by a rock. I complained and got my window fixed but the next time the lawn service came they were still blowing onto the cars.
MAINTENANCE: any problem that occurs in your apartment is your problem. I complained about many things when we first moved in here and now, 6 months later, they still have not been fixed. When maintenance actually comes they will look at the problem and either fix it half ass or will tell you that they will back and will never return. This is if maintenance comes, half the time when you call the office to report a problem, they will never even tell maintenance.
OFFICE STAFF: there isn't much to say about them. Office staff changes like once a month. Once you get to know someone they leave and you get another incompetent employee who has no idea what they are doing. The office personel tells you all these great things about the complex, but I recommend driving in at night and looking around. There are parties everywhere and no parking. Also walk into one of the buildings that is not the office building. You will see how poorly maintained they are and how there are bugs and a smell everywhere you go.
OVERALL: the community is horrible. If you like ignorant people, bugs and spiders that are infested in your apartment, not knowing whether your car is going to get damaged and a mainantence staff that does absolutely nothing, and high rent, MOVE HERE. The rent for a one bedroom apartment is 730 a month and rent keeps going up. This community is bad and I hate here. NO I would never recommed this place for anyone to move into. Appliances are old, carpets are never replaced, electric fixtures suck, no central air, and the manager is money hungry. If you have one spot on your carpet you better believe that your not going to get your deposit back. If this is the type of place you want to live in, go ahead, but you;ll have tons of problems too, I guarentee it.
