The only reason I would recommend this apartment complex to someone is if they don't have a car and work or go to school at UD. The UD bus system comes to this complex and is easy to use. It is important to note that it does not run during the summer or school breaks making it interesting for grad students who are there year round.
The apartments are old and not well maintained. The windows are thin, you can literally see wind blow through them. The apartments are cold during the winter and the heat doesn't work. During the summer, only one room is air conditioned. There have been a multitude of things that needed maintenance during our 1.5 years here, and one good thing is that the maintenance people were always very timely, polite, and got the job done.
Last year the complex was quiet, but this year more undergrads have moved into my building with their loud parties and smoking. About 2 months ago some drunks almost set my car on fire in the parking lot and set off all the fire alarms in the middle of the night trying to put it out. I should note that I have never felt unsafe here.
The price is reasonable, though, and the floorplan is rather nice. The one bedroom has a den that could be used as a small 2nd bedroom or as a library. The grounds are nice and well maintained. The fitness center and pool are so-so. It's not the best, but not the worst.
