My husband and I are looking at apartments in the area and stumbled across these apartments. We thought the model looked nice, however the management seemed a little off and rude. My area of concern is the safety, looking at the nearby neighbor that looks a lil run down and also, when I went to drive by at night, I saw some sketchy people hanging out in the middle of the road and parkinglot looking suspect. When someone showed us the room today, I asked about the security and about the characters that live nearby (theft, break-ins, etc. as if really they would come forward about it, I really just asked to see what they would say and read body langauge,) the apartment employee sounded hesistant to answer and then told us, "well, you can't control kids these days." So, with that being said and the reviews, it made me think about how much does piece of mind cost' Its priceless, I don't want to have sleepless nights, worried about my safety, worried if my car is going to broken into in the middle of the night, and then dealing with rude apartment personnel. Maybe I'm wrong about most of this, I haven't really seen reviews since 2007, but I rather be safe then sorry. I have been wrong before, I just don't want to deal with the drama.

Been here since 2006, and I'm a professional male in my thirties. I've never had a break-in, or a car break-in.......ever. Most of the neighbors in the complex are very nice and friendly, or they are just quiet and keep to themselves. Glasgow Pines may look like it's full of sketchy characters, but most families are working class, there's very little trouble. Thoughts of my safety and security are usually the furthest from my mind. Honestly. You should give AC a chance, unless you'd like to spend 50% more at St. Andrews across the street.....your choice. It's a good deal for the money. The management staff can be a little 'off', but I think you'll find that with any management staff.

I lived there for several years and moved out not long ago. I got my car spray painted on my some of these 'working class' teens who hang out there. A maintenence man was stealing medications from people. There was a drive-by shooting near the entrance there when I first moved in... I'm not making this stuff up. There are other stories too. Just read the other reviews. The management staff is more than a little 'off'. They're atrocious. Whereever else you move, there's no way you'll find management worse than that. But don't listen to me or the management person above me, who is posing as a resident. Listen to your instincts. In my opinion, your impression of the place was spot on. You made the right decision and saved yourself a lot of problems.

i live in the area,there was a fire in an apt about three months ago caused by maintenance not wiring the dryer correctly, also it used to be section 8 but they have renovated but what really is behind those old drywall's. And its ran by Capano biggest crook in del and a brother in jail for murder

Thank you so much for your comment, I really do appreciate it. I'm looking at some The Preserves Townhomes in Newark, they seem alot nicer, a little higher but I rather pay more than to risk it all.

I actually just moved into the apartments about 3 months ago and decided to go on here to learn a little about the neighborhood. Maybe I should have done that before I moved in. But I really like it so far. Maintence hasn't been an issue except for my washer breaking but they were out the next day. I love the management staff which is one of the biggest reasons I moved here. I feel like they really care about their residents. I guess time will tell.

Just as with any job, company, family vacation or relative everyone will have a different opinion about their experience. I have lived here for about 1 1/2 years and have had almost no problems. I do know the building next to me was robbed a few times, but never my building right next door. Maybe a tenant looking for insurance money? This has really been a very quiet community and most all of my neighbors seem to be professionals. I have had friends that pay $500 more per month in the Newark area and loathed every day at their "upscale" apartment. I thought something was wrong when I moved in here; On Friday nights I never saw people hanging outside nor music blaring. Just my personal experience...

my car got broken into, the staff didnt apologize or anything when i told them. they only accused me of lying and tried implying that someone i knew had a problem with me,so it was my problem not theirs. i dont even KNOW anyone in this state!! but they to have it towed because my car was an "eyesore". sorry, im a fulltime student and cant afford a $500 window/installation right now, and the window was smashed on THEIR property.....don't they know Im embarassed as it is to drive with no back window that I constantly need to retape because of the rain and heat?!
