The worst

I agree with pretty much everything others have written about this apartment complex. While the office staff and maintenance staff are very nice and polite (which is good, because I have come across some really rude ones!), for some reason problems just don't get fixed right away. We were shown around by Farzad, and he even accompanied us on our inspection. He promised and swore all problems would be fixed. We moved in March 2003, and our screen door is still not fixed. Our toilet in the master bedroom as broken and didn't get fixed until August. Jeff, the maintenance guy said he'll put in a work order to replace the tiles, and that still has not been done. The A/C wasn't working, and wasn't fixed till Aug. We found out that this as the case with many people. Now, the heater isn't working, it's cold at night, and we find out there are many others with broken heaters. The worst was when birds got caught in our walls. Yes, that's right, birds in the walls. One of them died, and of course, we were very upset. They punched to holes to get the birds out. This was in May. While they did seal the holes, they promised to come back and paint them. Also, there was a leak in the ceiling of the second bath. While the leak was immediately fixed, there was a bad stain left in the ceiling, which the promised to paint. It wasn't until I went personally and shouted at the staff at the end of Aug that the painting was done.
The staff says they care, but it's not supported by their actions. They lose work orders, things just don't get done, and you get the standard answer, "There are others in the queue." They claim to have spent $5m on upgrading the entire development, but the only place I've seen where they've spent this money is in their nice comfortable office and in the brand new balloons they float every day outside their office. Yes, they put brand new balloons every day. And I don't know what exactly that old security guard does except walk around acting self-important. He's fat, and it's unlikely he could stop a crime if it happened in his own home.
$825 for a 2-bed 2-bath is great, but not for the maintenance hassles.
