First, I am not the manager writing. I decided to write this as most people give negative reviews and few take time out for a good one.

I lived at GEV for 2.5 years. The apts look beautiful from outside. I would say one of the few apt that are located in the center of Newark...easy access to I95 and the Mall and a shopping place right next and yet green view from your balcony. I lived in a 1bed, Bath. As I was away from the main road, I didnt have any secuity issues. The heater and AC failed once. They didnt fix on the weekend , which was bad but it was resolved on monday. Somebody mentioned that their AC didnt work for one month; that seems unrealistic. The service is not that horrible.
The management is not bad. If you talk to them plesantly, they resopnd well. Sometimes the lady seemed moody, else no prob. But she was also very helpful even after I vacated my apartment. I kept my apt very clean and they refunded my entire deposit within days of vacating.

Also, the doors and windows were changed last year, so now they are well insulated. It always felt warm inspite of bad snowfall. (And the trees from my balcony looked so pretty in snow :)

The problems that you may face are:
1)Its got some noise problem. By that I mean you can hear some creeking sound sometimes and the noise of water running.
2)Also the baths need some updating. They are not bad but an update would be great.
3)The office doesnt keep your mail packet all the time, so if you miss a delivery you may have to go to UPS or USPS. This was not a big deal as both are located with a mile of GEV.

All in all a wonderful place to stay. Its low price and location is definately worth the money. After taking an apt in another city, I realise how wonderful my stay was at GEV and I miss Delaware so much.....suprising for me as well. I thought that I was ready to move out of DE :)
