upon move out

I would have to agree with everyone else saying that the office staff is very rude. My husband lost his job and was waiting for his unemployment check to come in when they started the process of filing for eviction. We called them, offered to pay one months back rent and then pay and extra $200 month to get us completely caught up. We were told "No way, once you recieve the court order that we won, you have ten days to move out". The maintenance is nice, sometimes it might take a little to understand what they're saying, I think they might be slow b/c the office "forgets" to hand them the work orders. Since we've been evicted, we now have to live with my husbands family, I had to take my son out of a special education program he was in for his speech delay (and was finally starting to make some progress), and now they're sticking us with the bill to renovate our apartment!! They are seeking 275 dollars in damages. I have 2 young children (3 1/2 and 2 yrs old), you can't expect the carpet to be perfect. Just like you can't expect the walls to be spotless, I cleaned the best I could. The living room carpet I will admit was a bit of a mess, but when we moved in, you could see where they had cut out a piece of carpet and just replaced it with another piece (I wonder if the former tenant had to pay for a complete carpet job). My daughter's bedroom they're saying that carpet also has to be replaced, it has one small stain that they could just cut out like they did to our living room, and the master bedroom carpet, that was spotless, and aparently that has to be replaced. They're sticking us with the bill for replacing the cabinets under the bathroom sink, when it was they're fault maintenance didn't get out there for almost a week when it was leeking (can't imagin how that might cause damage). There is a review about black mold, and we too had that. I would scrub our bathtub tiles every week, and it still grew back, yet we have to pay for it to be replaced because of the mold (after I asked them to replace it b/c of the problem). One review also talked about the "laundry facility" I called for 2 weeks straight about the washers leeking water. It took me getting upset enough when the washer ate my money to finally really raise a fit with them. And once you wash your clothes, you'll have to dry them at least twice if you want they to actually be dry (otherwise they're damp). On top of all of the problems we had this is the worst...my children were almost kidnapped while I was trying to do dishes!! All the office staff said was "make sure you keep your door locked.". I asked if they could move the lock up higher since my 3 year old could reach it and unlock it as soon as I turn my back, they said they'd have to check with the maintenance supervisor, I had to call them back a week later just to be told that it couldn't be done when there's a hole in the door covered by thin metal from where another lock used to be!! If you want a headache, want to feel belittled by people you know your smarter then, you should move here. Oh, and we didn't have a roach problem, we had a spider problem (did I mention that I'm archniphobic). We also had water bugs. I had one fall on my head while I was using the bathroom (it came in from the outside vent). I was told there was nothing they could do about keeping bugs from coming in from the outside!! They obvioulsy don't care if you have bugs in your apartment, we also woke up one morning with ants crawling in our bedsheets, and we had the windows closed! Our neighbors were nice, then again we were all in an alliance against Harbor Club and were all trying to find a way out of our lease!! We would sit outside and talk about what had gone wrong with our apartment that day. The hinge to my dishwasher was connected to a piece of plywood next to the kitchen cabinets, the wood fell down, and when I went to unload the dishwasher that night, I ended up with a huge bruise on my leg from the dishwasher door falling down on me. There is so much more wrong with this place that I could go on forever. We still have our keys, and it's $2.50 for each key you don't return (we still have them b/c some of our mail is still going there), some how 6 unreturned keys equals $35.00. You would have to have 14 keys to owe them that much. Don't move in, that way you won't have the hassels of your stay while your there, and them pinning you with the bill to renovate after you move out. Did I mention they still don't have one of their buildings which caught on fire isn't up to code yet and it's been almost a year.!
