My husband and I have lived in Oaktree nearly a year and we are moving in April so I feel free to be completely honest. First, the Cons: In the 10 months that we have been here we had to switch apartments(more about that in a minute) we had our car stolen from the parking lot and when we got a new car the license plate was cut for the registration. Our friends that live here had their wheel stolen off of their car. So theft in the parking lot is a problem.I understand that car theft is common in apartment complexes but several others in our complex have been robbed too. Now, about the first apartment we moved into. It was a ground floor apartment and it flooded. After the first flood we called the office and they said it wasn't a usual thing and that it never happened before(maintenance said that they had been there all the time from the flooding.) It then proceeded to flood again. We are talking 2 inches of water in our closet, bedroom, and kitchen. Mold set it and my husband and I had severe allergy problems. THe place smelled horrible and we asked after it flooded the third time to be let out of our lease. I mean, we asked and then went through all the official procedures of writing letters ETC.We weren't allowed to without a stiff monetary penalty of three months rent. The place was completely unlivable so they moved us to another apartment but DID NOT help us move nor did we get the other apartment for the same price. So, in essence though it was their fault, they did nothing to help relocate us. They did give us some laundry tokens(the washer and dryer only take their tokens and you have to buy a pack at a time for like 22.50)to wash our clothes which had been dirtied by the flood water.Pros:The second apartment is very nice and has a lovely view of their well maintained ground. The building is quite clean and well kept( cleaning crews clean the halls weekly) and our neighbors are all very nice. There is some noise that you hear because the floors are old and squeaky but it is not troublesome.Over all it is a very quiet place. Also, although the whole flooding and car theft thing was very troubling, We haven't had any major problems since.We recently had our fridge break and the maintenance man was very nice and efficient and fixed it perfectly the first time. I feel quite safe here (minus the thefts in the parking lot) and the price is very good for what you get. Overall, if you have an alarm for your car,and don't live on the ground floor I would recommend this place.
