My wife and I have lived here for over 2 years. She had lived here a year prior as well. About a year ago things started to go down hill again. There have been recent tire slashing (my wife??s car was 1 of 5 cars slashed) and car break-ins. The police have been on site more and more lately (8/14/06 2am-ish 5 County Cops and 2 Dogs searching for a man wanted for several break-ins that occurred that evening). The troubles in the neighboring "hoods" are escalating again. There have been 2 shootings on Old Newark road in the past 6 months. The crime is spreading into this apartment complex again.

Last summer it took them almost a month to fix our AC unit, and it still does not work right (never goes below 80). The electric bills are through the roof because of old windows/sliding glass door and thin walls. We have had pipes break and the toilet leaking, but when they "fixed" it they did not properly clean the water damage.

The last straw was when we received a "Mold Addendum" to our lease which would make us responsible for any Mold removal above and beyond our security deposit. I contacted Consumer Affairs and was advised that this is not our responsibility and we should fight it.

Needless to say it is easier to just move out. Considering the declining area, the age of the complex (it need renovated badly), and the lack of proper maintenance it is best to stay away. We liked living there, but that was the past, now it??s not worth it.
