A total nightmare.....

This has been a nightmare from the start. It took them several weeks to get back to us on our applications. We called & called to no avail. Eventually they wasted enough of our time that we had no place to go. The only reason we accepted this place to begin with is because we were informed that if you pay before or on the first of the month you would receive $50.00 off your rent. There was lie # 1. It was too late to go anywhere else since I had to move out of my previous apartment by the end of the month. Lie # 2 we were told that the mailboxes & doors & washer & dryers would be replaced within 2 weeks of us moving in. It is now many months later. The mailbox locks appeared to have only been switched around (not new & improved & not very secure). Maintenance in the beginning was ok. It now requires multiple calls & letters. Office staff with the exception of one person is dreadful. Every time you call they treat you as you are ruining their day. They give you attitude & can be rude. Maintenance is delayed. Can take a week to get something fixed. Almost everything fixed is only temporary. They will take old appliances from other apartments to replace your broken ones. Then eventually those replacements fail. It really seems like the office staff seems to have it out for us. It's to the point where we have to dot our I's & cross our T's. You have to supply a request in writing.. and not even then do they get on it right away. All we want is a decent running apartment & to be able to get our deposit back. So far we have had roaches, ants & mice. It took the pest control company SIX trips to get things somewhat under control. In order to get heat, hot water & trash included you have to accept an non-renovated apartment. Which was a big mistake. I wish we would have gotten the remodeled one. Maybe there wouldn't be so many maintenance issues. They do not accept payments on weekends or after 4pm weekdays. If you work a Monday thru Friday job you have to take time off work to take the rent payment. The cabinets & flooring are outdated. There is inadequate counterspace in the kitchen. It is only "cable ready" in the living room. In the bathroom, there is ONE outlet attached to the mirror. If you have a modern hairdryer you better forget about it unless you have an extension cord. We were missing a lot of the "basic items" that were supposed to be in our apartment when we moved in. Like oven racks, ice cube trays, broiler pan, light covers. Another thing, they charge ridiculous amounts for these items if they are not there when you move out. The shower is very high pressure. Like a fire hose. To the point where it is irritating. The water runs extremely hot eradically then very very cold. The tub does not drain well by the end of the shower the bathtub is filled to the brim. The bathroom gets moldy quickly. You have mold above you. There is water damage in the bathroom & in the cabinets. I could just go on and on and on. Laundry room is tiny. Two washers & dryers per 11-12 apartments. You might as well load up the car & take it to the laundry mat. it's $1.00 each to wash & dry. DON'T MOVE HERE!!! HUGE WASTE OF MONEY!! SO DISATISFIED WITH STAFF & CONDITION OF THE BUILDING. It's stuck in the 70's!!!

wow, still sounds like our unit now in '06! Only the opposite with the shower, barely any pressure at all, but scalding hot always. I think the roaches are carrying my furniture away- have never seen some so big in my life. There is a condemed apt from the bugs already! Rather live at the WMCA.
