This is crap...an HONEST review

Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2007
I've been looking for a new place to live and was curious to read what others had to say about where I lived for the past two years. I agree with everyone, the management is definitely writing the rave reviews about this place. I lived in the 700 building and had a 4 Bed - 2 bath apartment. While the space you get, utilities included and the apartments being furnished are all nice aspects of the apartment, you DO NOT want to deal with the management. They gave me hell for the past two years, and like everything at the university are only after money.
When you first sign your lease you are given the option to move in at the beginning of August or waive that right so that they can "clean and paint" your apartment. Haha what a joke! My roommates and I waited to move in so that "everything was nice" however when we got there there was trash all over the place, nothing was painted and the carpet was thoroughly stained. Talking with other friends, everyone had the same results...seriously bags of trash in the room!! We called management and explained the situation and their response was that there are too many apartments to get to everyone...WTF, how can you promise something on the lease and not follow through with it'' And if you have ANY management issues right after you move in forget about it. That whole "we'll address the problem in a week" is another joke. Actually, look it up on facebook..there's a group called "I've got 99 problems and maintenance won't come - University Courtyard Chapter".
One day when my roommates and I were hanging out in the kitchen, my one roommate went to check her laundry after a stranger noise than normal(btw the washer and dryer makes the most awful sounds ever!) and I watched as the dryer sucked her clothes down a hole! Then we reported the problem and when they checked it out they said the only way it could have happened is if one of us when into the dryer and purposely removed a part. Okay, we're all girls, and all 3 of my roommates were from long island so we especially have no knowledge on how a freaking dryer works, let alone why would anyone want to sabotage their own clothes while they were in the dryer' Anyway, they tried charging us for it and it wasn't dropped until we wrote a letter explaining how dumb it would be to remove a part from the dryer while her clothes were in it and if anything we should charge them because her clothes were ruined.
Then...one night, we had the radio on. Picture this, 6 people total in the apartment, the radio on, 10:30 on a Wednesday night. Someone called the cops on us! I got a noise violation ($160) for 6 people on a wednesday night at 10:30!! Then to top it off, I get a letter the next day with the Courtyards saying I violated the lease and owed them another $100. WTF! So again I had to write a stupid letter saying that in America people are innocent until proven guilty and either way the lease allows you to have 10 people in your apartment. I never paid it.
Anyway long story short its a rip off, the management blows, and it is COMPLETELY NOT worth the money.. Just do yourself a favor, rent a house. You can still use their pool, tennis and volleyball courts for free, because no one checks anything there.
Oh yeah, one last thing. They do all the outside maintenance stuff EARLY in the morning. More than one I was awaken to a Mexican on a window platform staring into my bedroom. I lived on the second floor...
