This has been the worse experience renting ever. Here's the condition of the unit when we first moved in:
-had to scrub urine off of floor and toilet in bathroom
-no hot water
-soap scum (i hope) in shower
-window screens ripped, missing from 1 window
-huge gaps between rug and wall
-microwave not screwed in well, falling down
-paint on oven burners
-dirty windows
-lock broken on slider door
-cable jack didn't work
-bedroom door didn't shut
First night, toilet didn't flush properly, but kept running and went everywhere.

This is what happened from there:
-pipe broke on 3rd floor & caused massive flood through the 2 units below (ours at the bottom). Took over a month to "fix". They only replaced the ceiling and drywall that fell, they didn't pull out the soaking wet rotting wood, they just painted over it. Had to live at our parent's place until it was fixed. Luckily, not too much of our property was damaged.

-water started flooding through bathroom ceiling one night, maintenance guy never found where it was coming from, even though he was standing there as the water gushed in. It stopped and never happened again but it took weeks for them to fix the hole in the ceiling & wall. They took the shower rod down to fix it, but left the shower rod down. Weeks later we got tired of waiting for them and we bolted it in ourselves.

-dryer broke, took almost a week for them to resolve the issue. They replaced broken dryer with dryer from another unit, it still had lint and hair in it. The maintenance guy must have cut his hand because blood was smeared on the wall and in the dryer.

-we don't smoke but you can smell the neighbor's smoke through the vents, they leave their buts everywhere. The elderly lady two doors down (who is on oxygen, even has the sign on her door) was sweeping them up one day!

-can hear EVERYTHING above us and next to us, and I mean EVERYTHING. Snoring, talking, watching tv, clapping hands, even their intimate moments.

-air conditioner broke 3 times, took days to fix.

-had termites nesting in spare bedroom wall. Told the office, she said "They're probably flying ants, their found around here a lot." I don't care if they are butterflies, they are nesting in the wall, get rid of them. They didn't send anyone out. I hosed the room down with raid and never went in there again. (they painted over soaking wet drywall after the flood because they are cheap, but now it will cost them big in the long run!)

-some neighbors are just fine but most play music too loud, are publicly drunk at 2 in the afternoon, fighting in parking lot... one of my favorites was when I heard "And then you ****** my best friend!!!" The people above us do aerobics, jump on trampolines or something because I swear they are trying to break through my ceiling.

-have to get proof that they receive our check because the checks disappear a lot.

The air conditioner broke again today, we're on the 1st floor so we can't sleep with the windows open. I could say more, but I've already wasted too much time on this place. I'm glad we're moving next week.
