Years at this apartment: 2005 - 2005
We have had trouble with this apartment complex from the day we moved in...or better yet the day we were supposed to move in. The afternoon before our move in date, the management called to say that they looked at the apartment they assigned to us for the first time and said it was in need of major repairs. I'm glad they at least made an effort to fix everything but the notice was late forcing me to call my apartmnet office at the time and alert them that I would be staying for an extra week and a half and have my electric, phone, etc turned back on. I had already scheduled a cleaning service to come in a clean the apartment before I moved in but was told by managemnet that it was not necessary because they had their own cleaning service scheduled to clean the apartment. But when we moved in, the place was a mess! I spent the whole night cleaning up the trash that maintenance had left in the kitchen, vacuuming the floor that was covered with so much plaster dust that with each step a cloud would blow up in the air, and clean the bathrooms that was obviously used while repair were being made. I made a complaint to the young office agent and her only response was "Really' There was a mess' That's strange"
We've had issues with flooding in our laundry and heater closets, leaks in both bathrooms, a dish washer (that still does not work even thogh the GM told me in August that they had ordered a whole new dish washer that I have yet to see), doors that fall of their hinges, outdoor security lights that do not work. The last straw however is with the heat that is not being properly distributed into the bedrooms (we had trouble with our AC this summer too). My concern is for an infant child and making sure she stays warm. The response from the staff: "put a towel over her window to keep the heat that is being produced in" (and this is from the same staff member mentioned earlier)!!
I stumbled over this site trying to find contact information for the corporate office to make a formal complaint since management seems to care less. The complex is not "ghetto" as stated by others (they must have never left the suburbs because compared to a real "ghetto", this is the Ritz!)The apartment size and neighbors are great. The problem is with the staff. They are forgeting that they are trying to run a business where the TENANTS are their clients. If you upset your clients, you eventually will lose your business.
The tenants I have spoken with agree that if you don't mind waking up to random leaks, having a dishwasher only for a drying rack, having a security gate just for looks, a basketball court without hoops, a tennis court without a net, having very high electric bills in the summer and still sweating from the heat, having high gas bills in the winter and wearing sweats, and lastly feeling like you are being ignored and dismissed by an incompetent staff, then this complex is just right for you.
