I moved here in 2003 and all was right with the world. I was VERY happy with the complex, the staff, and yes, that abandoned building in the front, the guard house was always staffed. After Vintage Properties took over, I knew it was going to be trouble. Whenever an entity wants to make a profit, something has got to go. In this case, everything went.
I won't get into too many specifics but the environment of the community has changed dramatically and for the worse (Welcome to the Jungle). Parking is atrocious, they hired a tow company to come in and tow cars if your registration has expired even one day. Assigning a parking sticker (and having a guard at the gate as promised) would avoid worrying about squatter cars or any and every person coming into the complex. Maintenance is subpar. Maintenance has come to my unit to fix the same problem 3 years running. Units are subpar. No upgrades have been done to my unit since I moved in (although they did tear the place apart one time and yes, I have pictures) but my rent has steadily increased. I'm moving on and I CANNOT wait! Revisit your childhood and KEEP AWAY!
