The only benefit to living at the Village of Windhover is the low price. I will admit that you get a large apartment for cheap. Now for the truth in advertising. Once you move in you will find that you live next to government subsidized housing. Due to this the grounds of the Village of Windhover is a haven for gangs of kids that are fighting, smoking dope, and destroying property.
I have the local police on speed dial. The apartment my family and I moved into did not
resemble the model apartment we were shown, and the list of deficiencies we provided to the apartment management once we moved in still has not been repaired. Any repair needed in the apartment is met with months of repeated requests and property management saying the part is on order. We did not have heat for a period of five days in January of 2003 due to the maintenance personnel making repairs to the boilers in the aforementioned month. Our heater was not replaced for a year after move in and our air conditioner was finally repaired in May 2004. Here is a list of items that needed to be replaced when we moved in: The bathtub, washing machine, floor tile in kitchen, both bathroom sinks, all interior doors which were not all replaced, all the electrical outlets, shower door latch, kitchen cabinets(still not replaced), patio needs to be restained. Upon move in we cleaned the apartment which had not been cleaned prior to move in. The maintenance crew has shown up drunk and smelling of alcohol. The ladies in the front office are not helpful and have been rude when dealing with our complaints. I have never in the time I have lived here meet the apartment manager "Caroline". If you are concerned with a good "quality of life" this is not the apartment complex for you. In short this is the worst apartment complex we have ever lived in.
