The parents of these kids need to be held responsible. These kids are outside yelling after dark. If the parents dont' want to control their children then management needs to make them accountable. This is ridiculous. Music blaring from the 1000 bldg so you can hear it all the way to the 600 bldg. It's sad how this place went down hill. At one time management enforced no tolerance and got rid of the trouble makers, loud music playing, crime committing residents. Now its all about the rent check. They spent money building luxury homes for nothing. There are some decient people who reside at the Vinings who are now moving out or will be in the next couple of months. Shelter Group doesn't care about the reputation of the Viinings. They care about collecting money.

The gate surrounding the whole complex is being knocked down by vandals in order to gain easier access to steal cars, vandalize and steal stereos, vandalize cars, burglarize apartments, and just loiter. And rather than pay for a Security Patrol, the management just turns a blind eye and doesn't care. The Vinings is a very unsafe place to live.

Don't even bother with this place. Find somewhere else to live! The Vinings will try to rip you off every year that you live here by trying to jack up your rent (to some enormous rate, which you can't afford) in the middle of your lease. They did this to me, last year, and even the year before. (New staff every year) The rental office is now even doing this to me again this year too. They want to jack up my rent to $1015 per month, in the middle of my lease. I came into this apartment, paying $710.00 back in February 2005. Every year, they wanted to increase, increase, increase. And they will do this illegally, if you don't know your rights. They cannot keep the same staff here. Turnover here is worse than truck drivers or McDonalds workers. The people in the rental office lose paperwork. Keep all your receipts and any paperwork they give you, because they will lose their copies and will lie, pretending that they never gave you any paperwork in the first place. The people in the rental office here are absolutely worthless. They screen their phone calls and do not want to talk to you. They do not care about the tenants who already live here. All they care about is renting out new apartments to new renters and putting that commission money into their greedy pockets. The people in the rental office do not want you here for a long time. I???ve been here for three years, and they want me out, even though my husband and I ALWAYS pay our rent on time and or early. They don???t care about that. They hate us paying $785.00 a month when they feel that they can now get more for that apartment. We came here in 2005, paying $710 a month. Our rent has been increased almost every year (even though it's not the outrageous amount they want). They want us to move out, so they can jack up the rent even more and have other renters move in. The maintenance staff is poor. My central air has not been working right, and they have done nothing to want to help fix it. The people in the rental office do not care what works in your apartment and what doesn???t. They just want you to pay more, regardless. They leave you nasty grams in your door and mail you hateful letters telling you that they are going to jack up your rent to well over $200, in the middle of your lease, when you've already agreed and signed to pay a certain amount before. They will never call you to tell you this, even though your phone number is on file in the office. If anyone is living here now (under these poor conditions), and you are not getting the care and service you are paying for, go to Shelter Properties in Baltimore (either by phone, certified letter or in person) and complain. Shelter properties needs to get rid of that rental office on Vinings property with those worthless people and just have us pay them rent instead (either by mail in check, money order, or direct deposit), because the rental office here is useless. But when you pay idiots only seven or eight dollars an hour, to work, don???t expect them to go out of their way for you. The Vinings want you to pay over a thousand dollars a month to rent an apartment with no central air, no organized assigned parking, no security gate (which was first promised to us when we moved here), ???nothing. They purposely keep this place ghetto because they know that the government will compensate and pay them the extra money they want for the disabled people and single mothers on welfare who live here, which means that this place is crawling with unsupervised screaming kids that will tear up the property, write on walls, and vandalize your cars and homes. Don???t throw your money down the drain with this place. There are better places to live than here. I will find another place as soon as my lease ends. This place is NOT worth the money they want! The Vinings at Christiana is a joke!
