We have had car thefts, units broken into and burglarized, cars vandalized, drug dealing, and assaults. And now this week a resident of bldg # 7 was robbed at gun point at his front door. The security fence was installed originally due to all the crime and loitering occuring. It has been broken for over 3 years due to vandalism. Management has no interest in finally fixing it. If you ask them.....they say "maybe next month". The only residents that are confortable living here are the section 8 and welfare cases. They are used to the crime. Everyone I spoke to have either moved or are planning on moving. Not a nice complex for normal decent residents paying close to $900 per month. Section 8 residents are paying close to nothing. When you bring the obnoxiously loud stereo noise problem to the attention of management, they won't help. They just say "to call the police". Management is useless.

I agree with everything you just said. We need to take legal action against the The Vinings for not living up to their end of our leases. We moved into a GATED comunity and it has never worked in the year that I have lived here. One of the Police officers informed me that we have some rights that are being violated by the gate not working.

Yes, you have rights as tenants and many of your rights are being violated. Everyone post their comments on here but no one really do anything about it. Stop your complaining and write your Senator, Major, Governor and etc. Also, Contact the Attorney General Office Consumer Affairs department and the tax credit office located in Dover Delaware. It is going to take more than 1 person to pursue further legal action aganist the Vinings and Shelter properties. Check the landlord tenant code and your lease to see which of your rights were violated. Don't you think it is time to get some people higher up in the governmental office here in Delaware to start investing the Vinings and Shelter properties. Finally as a last resort call the news paper and news media.

I think that it is ashame that the reviews and comments I am reading discriminate against section 8 people. I have currently recieved my voucher and am looking for a place to live. I think that what it boils down to is each individual judged for their own action. I am a single parent and never in my life lived in the ghetto. I refuse to be condemned for someone elses actions. There are just decent people and people who just don't give a darn. I feel that take whatever actions needed to get rid of the bad apples. But, you can not say all section 8 residents are about this cause they are not. I think everyone deserves a chance and if they mess up get them out. I know it might be frustrating but call the police. Yes, everytime. And call the Senator, Mayor whoever to let them know that the security gate was promised in the lease and they have broke their agreement. Get the bad seeds out. But, not all section 8 people deserve to be treated less than human.
