I'm going to try to be fair. . .

Years at this apartment: 2006 - 2007
I moved in here in 2006. I moved here because they accepted my dog.
The size, spaces and layouts of the apartments are pretty nice. I'm in a two bedroom, one and a half bath, non-remodeled unit. Never had any problems for the first 9 months. The maintenance and office staff are good, courteous and friendly, we are all neighbors.
There does seem to be poor communication among the staff though. I have been in to follow up on problems (I have only had two problems the whole time I have lived here, but combined they have taken almost two months to get fixed.) I would inquire about status and staff would look at you like they didn't know what you were talking about. I would consider both of my problems major and borderline emergencies (no AC for three weeks in August and leak under my kitchen sink for four weeks in July) but they don't see them as such. I'm still waiting for AC--it's Friday--and tomorrow has a projected heat index of 105. At this point I won't get anything until at least Monday because it isn't an "emergency," well, my checkbook thinks it is because my dog and I have to find somewhere to stay. They have known about the AC problem for two weeks today, and I have seen/talked/and visted five times in that two weeks. This past Wednesday, I called, was told that I was going to be fixed that day, only to be told the next day that it wasn't my unit, the girl must have thought someone else was calling. I have started to feel like I'm in that movie "the money pit" where everything is "two weeks." Finally toward the end of the movie the remodelers don't even try to hide the fact that they are BSing. I'm starting to feel that way here.
Now I will say this, every complaint that I have heard from fellow tenents come from non-remodeled units. At this point the are remodeling them the minute they become vacant. Those units command more money and hopefully more customer service.
The remodeled units that I have seen are beautiful! I would have loved to have one, but when I moved in I couldn't justify the money for the amount of time I'm spending here.
Each building has a laundry room which is pretty clean and has two washers and dryers each. I have never had trouble getting one when I wanted one. The common areas are clean and well kept.
I'm getting ready to leave due to a job relocation, if I didn't have that going on I don't think I would have stayed either. I've just really soured on them after the AC problem. I was told two weeks ago that the AC would be fixed as soon as they ordered a part, nothing takes that long to come in--This is the 21st century! I'm the low-man on the totem pole because I'm in a cheesy unit that they would like to see vacant to be remodeled.
My overall feeling is, if you don't have pets to worry about, there is plenty that is better in Delaware.
