The location is nice. That's the best part. The apartments themselves cost a fortune to heat!!!! Arundel uses a 3rd party company, Conservice, who issues the heating bill supposedly based on actual usage. They then tell you to deal with them because Arundel is not responsible for the heating bill. Conservice only supplies you the bill. They will not provide you with the location of the supposed meter used to calculate your usage. They will not provide you with the actual Delmarva Power Gas bill to see what the actual fuel rate is.
The reality is I pay over $200.00 for a 700 sq. ft. one bedroom apartment with three windows. I have received three identical heating bills for Jan, Feb, & March for exactly $200.00. Come on!
The state of DE does not currently have any laws protecting the consumer for this type of billing system.
The AC blows room temperature air and the office does not reply when asked to fix the unit.
I live here currently because they allow pets, but won't be renewing my lease.
If you decide to live here add an additional $200.00 to your utility budget during the winter months.
If you're still looking, I'm sure you can do better.
If you're young and love playing loud music, slamming doors, and drinking into the early hours of the morning Sun thru Sat then Arundel Apartments welcomes you!!
For the record, I have been seeing plenty of people moving out and not in.

The meters are located in the boiler rooms, which is connected to each maintenance room. I recently discovered that my air duct was tied in with the maintenance room, so not only was i heating and cooling my apartment I was also heating and cooling there maintenace room. I live in a 500 square foot apartment and now I know why my bills were always so high!

You are soooooooo right. I live here currently and the heat bill is really high. For a couple months my bill was like over $150. Despite this I think Arundel is a nice place to live & I have no problem with Management.

It's the luck of the draw depending on which unit you get. The identical unit across the hall paid an average $30.00 per month for heat. My unit was billed at $200.00 per month from November thru March whether or not I even used the heat. It's a hard sell for Conservice to explain that I used 6.5 times more heat than the other tenants. I would have to be running the heat 24/7 with the windows and porch door open. I have confirmed the meter is model Norgas RT-500 Run Time Meter. It's readings are transmitted electronically to Conservice. Conservice does not have a records to validate that the meters are tested and are in good working order. Neither does the leasing office. I have since sent this matter through another more civil and formal means of litigation for settlement. Good luck to all next October 15th.
