My husband and I were planning to move into the Brandywine Apartments at the end of the summer. When we applied, they charged us two separate application fees (even though we were married. That's never happened before; most places only charge one application fee for married couples.) Then it turned out that we needed a co-signer, and they charged us ANOTHER application fee when we turned in our co-signer application. So we ended up paying an extra $35 for someone who wasn't even going to be living in the apartment.

When we turned in the co-signer application, they told us they would call us the next day. They didn't. My husband gave them an extra day, and when we still hadn't heard, he gave them a call. The leasing agent he talked to told him that she would find our application and call him back. This was THREE AND A HALF WEEKS AGO and we STILL have not heard from them. Rather than continue to chase them down, we decided to re-sign our lease at our current residence.

Bottom line: We paid these people over a HUNDRED DOLLARS in application fees, and they didn't even have the decency to ever call us. If that's how they treat prospective tenants, I can only imagine how they treat people AFTER they've made the sale.

I am very, very angry and upset about my experience with Brandywine. I would NOT recommend dealing with these people. Ever.

EDIT: They finally called us this morning--a good three weeks after they were supposed to. I spoke with a leasing agent named Kim and told her exactly what had happened. She apologized (although it sounded like lip service--not sincere at all), but when I asked if we could get our $100 in application fees back, she said the money had "already been processed" and we couldn't get ANY of it back.

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY.
