Okay, so this is not the worst place I've ever lived, but it IS the second worst. Luckily I'm only here for a short time. The one employee I've met gives both my daughter and me the creeps. He hung around a bit too much while we were moving in and has tried several times to come into our apartment unannounced and without knocking. When I open the door, he claims he is at the wrong apartment. I bought and installed a security lock and we keep it locked at all times when we are home. Can't comment on the rent because I'm here with a job and placed here by my employer and have no idea what they charge. The outside of the buildings are ugly. The inside is better. Our apartment is spacious, but you can tell it's an older building. The curtain for the sliding glass door was missing when we moved in and no attempt has been made to provide one for us. Also, that door is very difficult to lock. There are 3 separate AC units in the apartment and they are like the under the window models you find in hotels. Very noisy as well. When we first moved in, the general population seemed to be older, lending to a very quiet environment. Also, there didn't seem to be very many people living here, at least on our floor. But, other people (younger ones) began moving in and at times it's been noisy, including a very loud argument between 2 young people that took place up and down the halls and on the elevator (including jumping up and down in the elevator) at 1am......and didn't stop, even after I complained to them, until they saw me dialing the police. Laundry rooms are located on each floor, and are free of charge, and there have only been a few times when all the machines were being used and I couldn't gain access them. People tend to leave their clothes in the machines for a long time after the machine stops. Light posts are in the lot, but don't work, so the parking area is dark in some areas, but I've never had a problem finding a space. It's difficult getting in the building. The doors are locked and it requires 2 hands to open. You have to turn the key and hold it with one hand, while opening the door with the other, which is hard to do when you have your hands full. We have no phone jack in the living room (something to think about if you need one for a computer or want a phone there), but there are jacks in both bedrooms and kitchen. Cable connections in living room and smaller bedroom only. But, other than the guy in the office, I have never felt that we weren't safe here, and since my stay here is only temporary, I am not too dissatisfied. I would not, however, want to stay here long term.
