Live in the community next to Forest Park, and have friends who are living there and moving soon. Re: "Nice Place to Live Review"
looks like a plug by the office to boost ratings. Get real. The real deal with these places is yes, lots of kids running around, so make sure you don't mind that. People DO work on their cars at ALL hours which makes the place look dumpy. They also DO accept Section 8 which is rental subsidy, ask about that. I am told that it is a low percentage of the apartments but the office staff will mislead to rent apartments as noted in the "Nice Place to Live" review.
Cars do speed through here making the parking lot unsafe and it gets rather worrisome at night. This place really used to be nice but has changed a lot. I lived here many years ago, and it has changed. My advice is not to listen to the office staff or phoney reviews. Walk around the place on a Saturday or Saturday night. Look in all the buildings. See the apartment first. This is a decent area, although if the apartments continue to decline could have an adverse effect on it. I have seen section 8 ruin apartments before. Just be careful!
