You've Been Warned

My wife and I moved to Greenville Place from across the country and, since many people move to this development from around the world, we feel it's our duty to report on our experience.

The best things I can say about the place are that it's perhaps the most diverse community in which I've ever lived, it has large open spaces for pets and children, and it's conveniently located near to an affluent neighborhood not far from downtown. However, there's a great many things wrong with Greenville Place, and Mid-Atlantic Realty.

Greenville Place is an old, decaying apartment complex. Need proof' You don't even need to go inside. Just take a look at their parking lots...they've long since crumbled to pieces. More importantly, they're infested with ants, and the pest inspector they have on speed dial may as well be spraying sugar water. They're not going anywhere. Also, construction of the complex's two apartment towers have created all kinds of noise, traffic and eyesores with which tenants are forced to cope. And speaking of coping, plan on very high electric bills. The aging windows and doors in these hobbles leak like a siv.

That's just some of the bad news about Greenville Place. Now for Mid-Atlantic Realty. At one point, someone with a key attempted to enter our apartment without proper notice. We know this because the chain lock on our door was nearly ripped out of the wall. When we called to complain about this, managers shifted the blame by insisting that we must have given a key to an acquaintance. We told them this is impossible because all our family and friends live across the country, but they didn't care. They couldn't account for their employees even if they wanted to. Incidentally, this is roundabout the same time I had a package valued at $100 stolen from outside my front door.

Equally criminal is how Mid-Atlantic drums up charges you must pay after you move out. Ours came to a total of $180, most of which went to pay for carpet cleaning they're required by law to do in between tenants.

All things considered, I would stay away from Greenville Place and Mid-Atlantic Realty altogether. In my opinion, they're having trouble filling their units so they make up for this by bleeding money from the tenants they do have. If for some reason you choose to ignore this advice, set aside about $1,000 for things like insecticide, ant traps, stolen property, extra locks, high electric bills, and frivilous move-out charges. 6TrHFn6pn7poyqNlKEgn
