STAY FAR AWAY--- NOT WORTH THE SAVINGS-- WILL CAUSE SEVERE HEADACHE

Do yourself a favor and stay FAR away from Greenville Place. The price is decent, but is totally not worth it.
1) my dining room window won't close all the way, has been like that for 4 months. there is a 3 inch gap at the top, and i had to duct tape it during the winter to keep the wind and cold weather out.
2) there are ants everywhere. in the living room on coucHes, in the kitchen, in the bathroom, and now even in my bedroom. i've called multiple times and no one ever comes by. i paid someone to take care of it for me, and I will be sending them the bill (to prove a point, i don't expect them to actually reimburse me)
3) the walls are paper-thin... i can hear my neighbors taking care of business in the bathroom, and am assuming they can hear me too which makes me slightly uncomfortable)
4) the squirrels are not afraid of humans. last spring i was laying out on my deck, fell asleep, and woke up to a rustling sound. looked up, and i swear there was a squirrel 2 feet away staring at me-quite scary since they carry diseases. they also live in the attic and run around-it is loud and annoying.
5) my electric bill is about $250 a month, and i'm rarely ever home to use the electricity. even my living room window isn't sealed properly, which i called about twice but nothing was fixed. even when my windows are closed, my blinds move due to the breeze coming through. (hence the high electric bill)
6) while it is unrealistic to expect all snow to be removed first thing in the morning after a storm, i was late to work on several occasions because i was stuck. they don't salt the walkways until it is too late so i do it myself. also, i was plowed in once and had to dig through 5 feet of snow with a shovel to get out.
7) Susan in management is a bitty. she has no respect, a crappy personality, and a terrible attitude. she has obviously never taken any management classes, and i'd be surprised if she has a high school degree. a GED would even shock me, she is truly a bad person to talk to.
8) there is a man who exposes himself. read the papers-there were several police reports about it. he did it several times on the street, and also did it at the pool. google "new castle county crime mapping", there are quite a few occurances in the neighborhood. i was concerned for my safety since there were a few break-ins and the perve flashing himself so i called the office-they pretended they had no clue what i was talking about and told me they could not give me any into-to call the police if i had any questions
9)the laundry room sucks. there are bugs, the machines rarely work- clothes aren't cleaned well, and only half the dryers work at any given time. very inconvenient. my friend who has an apt with a washer/dryer has to run the dryer 3 times to dry his clothes, and hang dries his towels
10) my water was brown. it was really gross and i couldt shower at home for a while. a few times i was told it was my water heater, but i was also told it was the city water, and then that it was from the construction. then i was told that it was just rust and it was safe to shower in the brown water. in the winter i couldn't take a normal shower because i run out of hot water
11) my neighbor who had the exact same apartment as me, pays $100 a month less even though i've been there way longer, and they didnt pay a security deposit. don't know how that happened.
12) my ceiling leaks every time it rains. rather than fixing the problem, they paint over my ceiling every time.

i must say, that Robin in the office is nice. i wish she were the manager, it seems she is the only competent one there. and the maintenenance guys are very nice, i just think that they don't get all the info, time, and resources they need to do their jobs properly. the location is great, and the landscaping is pretty. however, it is a waste of money to live there, and i can't wait to move out in a few months when my lease is up. i'm not counting on getting my security deposit back even though the place is in better condition that it was when i moved in-- it was quite gross.

there are many better options out there- dont move here unless you have very low expectations and extra $ to waste.

by the way, the only good review on this site was obviously written by management or a friend of management. i'm posting this anonymously only because i still live here and haven't gotten my security deposit back yet- dont want Susan to read this and hold a grudge.
