When I moved into my basement apartment, it was infested with roaches. I was told the man who lived there previously was disgusting and that I should be HAPPY that I was given new carpet before I moved in. The same week I moved in, I found my apartment floor flooded. The sewer line was backed up and water was flowing in from my water heater or something in that closet. They came in and shampooed the carpet, cut it and stuck a huge fan on it for days. This happened over and over and over. Also water leaked from the ceiling in the bathroom and after a while they came to fix it. Really that just meant they cut a hole in my ceiling and left it there because they had no idea where it was coming from, this water. Let's see.. what else.. oh the windows! I was told I'd be getting new windows but of course I still had the old ones that the screens were broken off of. The maintence men walked into my room when I was sleeping once. When I complained, the property manager laughed and joked about it.

The people though, are good people. I've had boxes sitting out and no one took anything. I was never ever scared and always felt safe. One time a man came knocking and being a single girl I was unsure of what he wanted. He told me that I need to go roll up the windows in my car, which was nice of him since it was about to storm.

Let's face it, I survived, was never hurt, was never scared HOWEVER bugs never left the place and I had a termite infestation in the bathroom also. I left the MOMENT (actually the day before) my lease was up.
