Lied about Fees

Luckily my husband and I took our time in deciding to sign with Rodney Square. Especially since they practice high pressure sales. We like the look of the apartments but the prices were outrageous. Despite that though we were going to sign a lease. Especially when the leasing agent told us that the first month's rent was free. The idea of guaranteed valet parking was also a big plus. However, when my husband went to sign the lease we found out that the old saying is true, "nothing in life is free". The woman kept saying that it was but the truth is that you don't have to pay your first month becuase they divide it up and roll it over to the rest of your lease term. Meaning, that the original numbers we discussed on our first visit went up over $100. It's not free, just delayed. The second lie came when my husband asked about the parking fee. We were told that it would be $125 per car, but right before the signature went on the paper he was told that it was $125 extra a month for the first car and an additional $155 dollars a month for the second car which they did not guarantee a space. Those extra fees are in addition to a $500 dollar non-refundable pet fee. All of that said, if all the cards had been laid on the table we would have rented with them despite the price. But we felt lied to and decided to walk away rather than deal with a company that was dishonest even before the ink hit the page.
