I used to live at The Plaza and paid the 900.00 a month and received free electric. When I moved I still pay 900.00 a month and now pay my own electric which last month was 148.00. I also have to conserve. At the Plaza I did not have to worry about conserving. I also has the laundry room and fitness center in the same building. Now I'm afraid to go to the fitness center at night because it is so dark and their are always teens hanging around.
Yes, the building is old and has it's problems but don't the people complaing on the website have the option to move'
I find that most of the time you always here from the complainers but not the content and that's why I wrote a review. I'm not from management and infact work for Southwest Airlines so that excuse is ridiculous!

You say you USED to live at the Plaza, so you do NOT know how much it has deteriorated. You should not have left a review if you did not experience all the current (Mar-June 2006) problems. You are misleading people. The elevators are ALWAYS breaking down, the elevator guy told me the wiring needs to be replaced due to being very old and the company won't do it because it is expensive. The A/C does NOT work. I finally bought a portable AC unit for the bedroom, but I could not find one that worked with the type of windows in the living room, so I was UNABLE to use my livingroom for anything but 'furniture storage' from May onwards until I finally moved out June 30th. The hot water temperature violates apartment standards, it's way too hot (over 170 degrees). It's dangerous to take showers as the water stream fluctuates without warning from 'warm' to extremely hot and definitely can scald. The nighttime concierges sleep on the job ALL the time and no one cares. You should NOT rent at the Plaza, it is now under new ownership and they are NOT solving the serious intrastructure problems. It is NOT safe to live there due to the building's deterioration.

I agree with the above - I lived at the Plaza for two years while in law school. The elevators and A/C are broken MOST of the time. While studying for the bar exam I often had to climb a dozen floors only to enter a humid 95 degree apartment and attempt to study. The Plaze Management also tends to drastically overcharge for damages (i.e. $40 to "clean the stove.") RENTER BEWARE!
