First of all me start by saying they should build a property on the parking lot and knock this old piece of $hit building down and then dig a big whole where it was standing and bury everything!

I've lived at the Plaza Apartments for nearly 5 years and almost everyday regretted it. Unfortunately for me, I cannot beat the location as its walking distance to work and city parking being at least $100 a month. Everyday I have to convince myself that its not going to be much longer until I move out, luckily that day has come and now I can buy a house! For 5 years the elevators have always smelled like old stale garbage because the lazy trash removal service people just go floor to floor dumping all the trash in it until its filled up to the lights and then send it to the 1st floor and dispose of it out the back door. They like to switch up elevators because one of them is usually not work (1 of 3 at least once a week), hence they all stink like trash. The water has been shut off on the average of 2 days per month for "maintenance", which usually leaves a nice yellow rust stain in the stinks and tub when they get turned back on. The pipes in this building are well over 60 years old and they act like it. 2 out of 7 mornings do I have hot water prior to shaving for work at about 7:00 a.m., the "free" heat is only working for 3 months a year and the "free" A.C. is only working for 3 months a year minus the real hot days when it just so happens to be 90 degrees or hotter and it "malfunctions", (I assume it saves Sawyer Realty a ton of money turning it off). The rat problem is 100% true (read it from the other reviews), I have always seen rat traps in various corners of the building and saw my first about 4 months ago. Now coincidently, I see one per month. You can forget about buying new clothes while here b/c if the washers don't leave a rust stain on your whites then someone else will leave a tub full of bleach in the washer before you wash your darks. Thankfully the other residents find it beneficial to open a dryer door when its on so it shuts off (yes being sarcastic), so you go down to get your "dry" clothes and find them still soaking wet and rust colored or bleached. $1.75 per wash (if it works) $1.00 per dryer load. I spend at least $50 per month in laundry bills which covers a "water" bill (that is free), which is really is not because its added to your rent. Please feel free to check out the new renovated apartments though...they have carefully jacked up the prices in their newly renovated apartments to cover their costs. Yes, you get a nicer looking trash smelling, rat infested, luggage room for only $1400 a month and your "no a.c. and no hot water" are free of charge! Okay, so I digress. Please, please, please save your $! Do not rent here, do not even consider looking at the place, do not even consider anything but signing a city petition to knock down the building!

Oh and if you're lucky you can get woken up at 1:00 a.m. when the frat boy party animals coming walking in from trolley square smashing beer bottles, screaming and yelling! Perhaps, that is the reason the cops are here twice a week! Luckily though if you do come home late at night at least the Plaza offers parking outside for $75 a month in front of their building (but your lucky if you ever get to use it b/c someone's guest has parked there already!!! Good to know that you can have them towed though (I have had 10 vehicles towed from my spot in 5 years and loved every minute of those cars getting "F"'d up by that pissed off tow truck driver! That is truly the only enjoyment I get out of this place!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
