Great First Time Renting Experience

I had never lived alone before until I moved into Village at Fox Point. The staff became like a second family to me -- always friendly and helpful. I only have minor complaints about two areas -- noise and parking.
The construction overall is excellent. These are sturdy homes with very modern, new interiors. The landscaping is immaculate, almost to the point of obsessive, though this is not a good thing if you are a night person and have to sleep during the day. For example, I remember the landscaping crew working every other day during the summer starting at 8:00am, with their lawnmowers, tree pruners, and leaf blowers running loudly. I worked nights at the time and was just getting to bed at 7:00am. I eventually got used to it and fell asleep, but it kept me up for a while each day. Another issue with noise -- loud children. For the first few months, I had very quiet neighbors so I didn't know what the noice level between units were until a family with young kids moved in next door. While I couldn't hear conversations, I could hear the occasional door slamming, banging on walls, or running footsteps during the day. As with the lawnmowers, I eventually got used to the sounds and ignored them.
Another issue is with parking. We live in sections of 10 units each. Each section has a small lot of 14 spaces. This means only four units can have two cars each. Since there are no assigned spots, when the lot is full, you have to parallel park along the street. Parking was fine when it was just me and a few neighbors. We would normally have two spots open each night. When the previously mentioned family moved in, they brought four vehicles with them. Since I got back late every night, I would have to park on the street. (I am terrible with parallel parking.) This more of an inconvenience when you have bags of groceries to haul from your car to the door.
These are the only "draw backs" to living here. I would still recommend this place if you don't work night shift and like a work out parking your car.
