has its problems, but mostly good

People seem to be very divided over the apartments at Village at Fox Point. I've lived here for two years, and there's definitely some great stuff as well as some not-so-great stuff here.

The Good:

- Everyone has their own private entrance, and most apartments are two floors so you have no upstairs neighbors.
- The complex is very quiet.
- The swimming pool, gym, and business center are all lovely.
- Maintenance is usually very quick to respond--I've only had one problem with them in the entire time I've lived here.
- Office staff is friendly.
- Landscaping is absolutely beautiful.
- It's located just off I-495 and is convenient to Philadelphia Pike and Concord Pike.
- It's great for a first apartment if you don't have a lot of stuff, or if you want an apartment that feels more like a house (the two-floor apartments are really more like townhouses).
- The view of the river is a really nice free extra.

The Bad:

- The business center is only open during office hours, which isn't convenient for anyone who works full-time during the day. Also, the ink cartridges in the printers usually need replacing.
- The apartments are on the pricey side, especially if you don't use the extras like the gym or business center.
- Heat is not included in the rent, and can get VERY expensive during the winter. Insulation isn't very good--a lot of cold air gets in through the doors and windows.
- Parking is fine if your apartment is near a lot, but street parking can be a pain occasionally.
- Most apartments have bushes and shrubs outside the front doors and windows, which--while pretty--attract bugs like nobody's business in the spring and summer.
- The apartments are on the small side, and have minimal closet space.

Overall, though, I've had a positive stay here, and would recommend it.
